WELCOME TO THE CASTLEMAINE FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB
FATHER AND SON DON THE BLACK AND WHITE TOGETHER
It's not often that Castlemaine sees a father-son combination in the same team but the Connell family stepped up together for the Magpies last weekend against Strathfieldsaye.
Darcy currently plays for the Under 18s but has also played most games for the Reserves to help out. Meanwhile his father is a regular feature in the Castlemaine Masters team but with the Reserves bereft of players both Connell men pulled on the black and white for the Magpies. Sprigg was the Under 16 coach last year.
Castlemaine's football history started in 1859 and it is one of the oldest Australian Rules clubs in existence. Castlemaine plays in the Bendigo Football Netball League against Maryborough, Gisborne, Kyneton, Sandhurst, Kangaroo Flat, Sandhurst, Golden Square, South Bendigo, Strathfieldsaye and Eaglehawk.
