The Gisborne Bulldogs handed out a football lesson last week when they comprehensively beat the Pies by 57 pts.

The Magpies are out of the race to play finals in 09 but this did not inhibit them from playing their best football last Saturday against the Sandhurst Dragons.

The Magpies are out of the race to play finals football in 2009. Last Saturday was our last opportunity to keep our slim finals aspirations alive but unfortunately the boys were unable to get over the top of Kangaroo Flat who were sitting 4th on the ladder.

The Castlemaine Football & Netball Club is based in the rural township of Castlemaine, Vic and joined the Bendigo Football League in 1925. It was in 1859, that the actual Castlemaine Football club was formed, making this year, 2009, the 150th anniversary of the club.

It is argued that the Castlemaine Football Club is the 2nd oldest in Australia, behind only the Melbourne Football Club and additionally, one of  the oldest in the world. Castlemaine is a proud club with a proud history of past players and achievements.

Last year saw a major upgrade to the Castlemaine Football & Netball Club social side, with a full renovation of the clubrooms. The clubroom facilities have been completely gutted, fully renovated and simply look fantastic. Huge thanks to all of those who have made this possible, and please come and check out our new facilities, which now include a great kitchen area, bar, central heating and big screen TV's.

The 2009 Castlemaine side is slowly taking shape, and even with the loss of some key players, the side is full of promise and showing great potential.
