You can tune into WMAfm on 94.9fm or stream it live from the website www.wmafm.com.
Local radio station, WMAfm, is where you will find on a Friday night at 5.00pm The Footy Show, a local football wrap-up covering all Castlemaine ins, outs and previous matches. The show spawned out of a small online program in an local cricket club, when WMAfm invinted the men to do a similar show during the summer months on the whole competition, and from this we now have the amazing footy show weekly during the winter months with panelist Stuey Dunn, Brett Cole, Trevor Butcher and occasionally you may see Jarryd Millard floating around.
WMAfm also broadcast their first ever football match in 2010 with Castlemaine vs. Sandhurst at the Camp Reserve. The first broadcastors of the match were Stuey Dunn, Brett Cole, Len Watson and Trevor Butcher, with help from the radio's own Ian Braybrook and Barry Palmer setting up all of the technical side on the day to help make it possible.
The broadcasts have now reached great heights, after local games at our home ground the Camp Reserve, the coverage was extended for the first time in the radio's history all the way to Gisborne for their clash against Castlemaine on the 2nd of July 2011. Commentators on the day saw a slight change to first time around, with Len Watson having the role of senior coach we welcomed Johnny Hunter to the panel of already great commentators.
WMAfm have greatly supported our football club by giving us the opportunity to broadcast Castlemaine games on many occasions, and have given us a fantastic opportunity to promote the club through both the broadcast and the Friday night shows.
Be sure to 'like' WMAfm on Facebook to keep up-to-date with all events by this fantastic station.
